Emerald City Players Guild  

Emerald City Players has established the Emerald City Players Guild (The Guild), as a forum for actors, technicians, production assistants and all other volunteers who love the theater, and who wish to be a part of our effort to become the premiere community theater organization in central Ohio. 

Being a member of a top-quality theatrical organization is like being part of a family – the love of theater is the glue that cements us together.  At ECP, we believe in active and enthusiastic membership; we enjoy the fellowship that comes from working, playing and succeeding together; we are committed to our craft and to one another.

We strive to produce top-quality shows, and so we require all Guild members to actively participate and assist with the various activities necessary to assure the success of each production.  That means assisting with administrative, marketing and support responsibilities as well as production activities.  Active participation does not necessarily mean a year-round commitment, or that you need to be involved in every show (of course you may have so much fun you may find it difficult to stay away!).

Anybody may join the Guild, regardless of background or level of experience.  You need not have recent, or any theatrical experience.   Some of the committees and sub-committees you can become involved with are:

Production (Technical, Program, Props & Set decoration, Costumes, Hair & Make-up, Set design & Construction, Front-of-house, Reception & Hospitality, Photography & Video)

Sales & Marketing

Publicity, Public Relations & Community Awareness

Fund Raising

Membership (Guild administration)

Development & Long-range Planning

Play Reading & Library

Our season has been expanding every year since the troupe was formed in 1999.  We now have eight shows scheduled for our 2007 season.  This means that we will now have at least one show in production at all times throughout the season.  

Our production values and expectations are extraordinarily high. You will find that the sets that we design and construct are among the best in the Columbus area.  Most of our shows are performed in our own Emerald City Theater. 

Member dues are $25 per year.  In addition to being an important part of our production team, here are some of the benefits you will enjoy:

• Two free tickets to the current show for cast and crew members.
