A neurotic New York film critic, recently
estranged from his wife, spirals into a depression. He seeks solace
in the classic movies he loves, and begins having conversations with
the fantasy ghost of film idol, Humphrey Bogart, who gives him
advice on romance and masculinity. What results is a hugely
entertaining comedy with a classic mixture of Woody Allen’s
one-liners, neurotic pathos, and keen observations on the human
condition.
